About After The Storm Peer Support
After The Storm Peer Support provides trauma-informed, lived-experience peer support for adults who want help managing intense emotions, rebuilding stability after crisis, and moving forward with confidence.
The service offers structured, non-clinical support focused on emotional regulation, understanding patterns, and developing practical coping strategies that work in everyday life.
Support is calm, honest, and person centred. Sessions are tailored to you, your pace, and what you need most.

Get to Know Us
After The Storm Peer Support was founded by Emily, a peer support worker with both lived experience and professional experience supporting people with complex emotional needs.
My background includes several years working within personality disorder services and for a mental health charity, supporting individuals experiencing intense emotions, relationship difficulties, and recovery following crisis. When funding for the service ended, I was made redundant. I valued the work deeply and remained committed to the people I supported, which led me to establish After The Storm Peer Support to continue offering consistent, meaningful support in a space where many people still struggle to access it.
Alongside this, I completed a degree in Psychology and Counselling through The Open University, achieving a 2:2 while working full time, raising a child, and managing life’s challenges. This experience shaped both my understanding and my commitment to realistic, compassionate support.
My training includes DBT-informed approaches, KUF training, behavioural activation, DASH, ASIST, safeguarding, GDPR, and specialist peer support training. I hold an enhanced DBS and engage in ongoing professional development to ensure my work remains safe, ethical, and informed.
After The Storm Peer Support was created to offer a calm, structured, and respectful space for people who want support that feels human, consistent, and focused on meaningful change. Certificates can be provided upon request.
